The installation of sandwich wall panels using vacuum lifters is gaining popularity on construction sites, leading to a gradual move away from manual handling or lifting slings use.
Under the term “wall panels installation”, we mean all installations such as façade, cladding or cold room panel installation. There are several reasons why more and more companies are considering the use of a vacuum lifter for sandwich panels:
While roof insulated panels installation generally requires a large vacuum lifter to give adequate support to the panel, installing wall panels requires a smaller, more compact lifter.
Suction lifters are designed primarily for handling and installing sandwich panels on construction sites. For this reason they are equipped with safety systems and a dual vacuum circuit in full compliance with European regulations EN13155. Approved by site safety managers, our vacuum lifters no longer make it necessary to use slings or other secondary lifting systems.
Righetti vacuum lifters are powered by built-in batteries for operating without the obstruction of external power cords. Batteries are rechargeable and easily replaceable when needed, so your worksite never stops. With the included dual battery kit, you can always have a charged set of batteries to get your work done without interruption.
To install wall panels, it is necessary to pick up the panel lying horizontally and bring it to a vertical position, with a single smooth movement that does not damage the panel, ensures its stability and facilitates its installation. Righetti lifters, thanks to their special structures and tilt assistant bracket, make it particularly easy to tilt the panel from horizontal plane and place it in a vertical position.
It is often important to have a wireless radio remote control to handle panel suction and release remotely, making it easy to detach the lifter especially when mounting panels in the horizontal position.
When installing cold room panels or wall panels inside sheds and warehouses, there may be a need to minimize the below-the-hook height. The CL-W vacuum lifter has a removable lifting arm so that the suction lifter can be attached at a lower point than the standard attachment point, so that the below-the-hook height is greatly reduced and panel installation is made easier.
Timing on site is the key, and we know it well: our vacuum lifts are ready to be used in a quick and convenient manner, especially without equipment.
The choice of which suction lifter to use to install your insulated facade panels also depends on the type of material they are made of. Polyurethane sandwich panels generally do not require special precautions in their handling and can be installed using a compact vacuum lifter such as CL-W, even for longer lengths. Mineral wool panels, also called rock wool, are more delicate, therefore need more support. Should you need to lift mineral wool panels, we recommend opting for the CL1-6 model, which offers the possibility of changing its configuration to best suit any length, thus ensuring panel stability and hold. For shorter rock wool panels, CL-W can be used as well. Wall panels usually have the outer layer made of sheet metal with a smooth or micro-ribbed finish. As a result, the suction pads and the whole suction system of the cladding lifter are specifically designed to facilitate gripping even on panels with small differences in height, as precisely in the case of micro-rib.
Righetti vacuum lifters for insulated panels are the ideal solution for wall panels covering jobs. They are powered by high-capacity rechargeable and removable batteries, feature horizontal-to-vertical tilting, and are equipped with specific suction pads for smooth and micro-ribbed surfaces. CL-W is the ideal model for handling wall panels of less than 12m, both horizontally and vertically. Its compact design actually conceals a firm grip on the panel and a load capacity of up to 375kg. The CL1 series, on the other hand, is a more comprehensive model that can adapt to different panel lengths, both polyurethane and mineral wool, thanks to its modular design. In CL1-4 version, the maximum lifting capacity is 250kg, while in CL1-6 version it increases to 400kg.
